My Digital Media Life

I would like to call my self a computer geek in training. My major is Visual Communication and that is strictly because that is my favorite form of communication. In my work station at home I have an Imac hooked up to a 19"LCD high def television and a 25" inch monitor. I also have a 42" TV which I use to hook my MacBookPro up to when I need to be able to see things closer on the screen. I purchased a walcom tablet a few years ago which I also use to draw onto my computer screen. I have an iphone which I also use for photo projects. I use all of the Abobe Creative suite CS4. I also use a Cannon 40D for photographs. Each object that I have listed is very helpful for me to create all sorts of different visual arts. I feel as if I am from a generation which identifies with technology as being part of our lives while I know my mothers and grandmothers generation can never figure out to switch from a VHS to a DVD. I think that my grandmother lived in a time period where black and white t.v. was amazing and now we have HD t.v. which blows her minds. The generation of my mother was used to 13 basic channels and never had even heard of the internet until the early 90's. I remember my moms old computer used floppy disk which have been replaced in my generation by downloading from the internet. The world is becoming overwhelmed and consumed by technology but what I find interesting is how people are unsure of its usefulness. Eventually I am sure my generation will replaced by the younger generations and make me feel like my technology in my lifetime was insufficient to what they have but till then I will enjoy all my toys.
